Dr. Olga Uribe Joins ARMC Medical Staff

ATHENS, TN (September 18, 2009) – Olga L. Uribe, MD, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, has joined the medical staff at Athens Regional Medical Center.  Dr. Uribe is associated with Athens Women's Clinic located on the hospital's campus at 817 Cook Drive.

Dr. Uribe came to Athens from Canton, Georgia, where she served as a staff physician at Cherokee Women's Health Specialists for the past four years.  She is a graduate of Mercer University School of Medicine located in Macon, Georgia, and completed a residency program in OB/GYN at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. During her residency she served as Administrative Chief Resident.

Dr. Uribe is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). She was also recently honored with acceptance as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). To be elected to Fellowship status a physician must be board certified, successfully meet the high standards set by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, demonstrate high ethical and professional standing, and exhibit excellence in clinical and surgical performance.  In addition, to her excellent educational and professional background, Dr. Uribe is fluent in Spanish language.

Dr. Uribe is married to Dr. Joseph Lauterbach. They are residents of Athens.
